Underwriting Account Manager Description

Our Personal Lines Advisors are an integral part of our team and a key point of contact for our clients. You will help clients insure their homes, condos, rentals, seasonal items, toys, special events, etc. Here is a sample of what you’ll be doing. 

  • Engage with clients to determine their needs and provide expert advice to ensure the best coverage for them 
  • Maintain and manage a book of business and strong client relationships through proactive contact via phone, letter, and email 
  • Develop new business opportunities by securing expiry dates, referrals, and cross-selling 
  • Manage and process renewals on a timely basis and maintain high levels of client retention 
  • Assist in processing all types of auto insurance including renewals, transfers, changes, permits, cancellations, new plate transactions, and general auto inquiries.

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Education:   High School graduate 
  • Licensing: Insurance Broker level 1 or 2 
  • Experience:  Some auto and previous personal lines experience is beneficial 
  • Communication Skills: You will need strong verbal and written communication as you will be interacting with customers, team members, and employees of different insurance companies. 
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Epic, Company portals and Applied Rater Service for quoting.

    Work Environment

    Typical Work Setting: Most of our personal lines account managers work in one of our branches.  Expect a small office environment with a close-knit team to support you.   

    Work Hours:  The typical work hours in branches are 8:30 am to 6 pm Monday to Saturday.  Expect to work during those hours.  

    The majority of your work will be at your branch office.  There will be very little travel expected outside of possible visits to other Schill offices from time to time.
